3. The Organising Committee (hereinafter called "The Committee"), at its discretion, reserves the right to change the date, time and venue of the tournament, if such a need arises.
 

Eligibility of Participants

1. This championship is open to all. All current and ex-national players are eligible to take part in this tournament.
2. F-Grade and above, and those who played in the 2017 NSL F-Grade League or Ladies Division 2 are not eligible to participate in the novice event. National juniors are also not allowed to take part in the novice event.
3. Player(s) must produce their identity card during registration.
4. Age qualification shall be based on the following:
Category: Veterans' Open (Handicap Scoring System)
Birth Year: Born before 11 Sep 1972
 

Registration of Entries

1. Players must specify their current grades (as specified in the SSRA current or previous grading lists). Players with no grade but have played in the league shall declare their grade of the team they have registered. The Committee reserves the right to amend or upgrade any player whose grade, in the opinion of The Committee, does not correspond with his/her standard of play.
2. The registration fee is as follows (per category, per person):
Student / SAFRA Squash Players / SAFRA Members: $20
Guest: $25
Wildcard entry: $30
3. The duly completed registration forms, together with payment, shall be submitted to the front desk of any SAFRA clubs, open from 9am to 9pm daily. A receipt will be issued. The closing date for registration is Fri, 11 Aug 2017, 9pm.
4. Fees are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by SAFRA.
 

Tournament Systems & Rules

1. The American scoring or PAR system (11 points plus Handicap points) will be used.
(a) For Open and Veterans events, before quarter-finals, all games will be played up to 2 games. In the event of a tie (game at 1-1), the outcome of the match will be determined by “sudden death” of first to 3 points.

(b) For Open and Veterans events, from quarter-finals onwards, all games will play to the best of 3.

(c) Novices will play to the best of 5 games for all games, first to 11 points (w/o deuce).
2. The Committee reserves the right to amend or reject a player’s participation in his/her selected event. All decisions made are final and players must comply with the decision.
3. Players 19 years old and below must bring along and put on protective goggles to avoid injury.
4. Players must report to the officials at the venue 15 minutes ahead of their scheduled time of play. Players reporting after the 15 minutes of the scheduled time of play will have their matches forfeited. Mutual agreements between players to play at other time schedules will be accorded with the lowest priority in the allocation of court time.
5. Players are required to mark/referee at least one match in each of the rounds that they are playing.
6. Players are reminded to check their next scheduled match with the Coordinator or at the updated match table after their games.
7. All players are requested to bring their identification documents for verification on the days of their matches, failing which they will not be allowed to play.
8. Players who have registered for more than one event must be prepared to play more than one match on the same day.
9. Once entries have been accepted, no replacement / substitution of players will be entertained. However, The Committee will consider requests for change of players if valid reasons are provided, on a case-by-case basis. No changes will be made after the closing date.
10. A close draw of the tournament fixtures will be conducted on Friday, 18 Aug 2017. Participants will be drawn based on their grades and seeding.
11. Participants are to check their fixtures on Fri, 25 Aug 2017.
 

Prizes & Incentives

1. Cash prizes, trophies/medals will be awarded to winners up to quarter-finalist for the main event if more than 60 participants, and up to semi-finalist for other categories. Prize winners are required to attend the prize presentation ceremony held at the SAFRA Toa Payoh, Seminar Room on Sat, 16 Sep 2017 in proper sporting attire in order to receive the prizes (no singlet, slippers and sandals).
2 All prize winners must be present in person, in order to receive the prizes. No representatives are allowed.
3. If prize winners do not turn up during the prize presentation ceremony, prizes will not be awarded.
 

Supplementary Rules

1. The Committee reserves the right to interpret or amend the rules and regulations of the tournament at any time. Notifications of such changes will be posted on relevant website. It is the sole responsibility of the participant to visit the SAFRA website for any notices or changes to the draw or schedules. Any changes will be posted at least 24 hours before the re-scheduled match. Any other rules and regulations that are not covered by the rules and regulations will be decided by The Committee, whose decision will be final.
2 In any event of a dispute or seeking redress, please lodge your appeal in writing together with the protest fee of $50.00 with the presiding official on the spot during the match. In the event of the protest being dismissed, the fee will be forfeited.
3. In the event of any dispute arising over any player, the match shall be played under the protest and The Committee shall determine the matter on receipt of the protest.
4. While reasonable precautions are taken, SAFRA, and its agents will not be responsible or in any way liable for any death, disability, personal injury, loss of property or any loss howsoever arising from any cause whatsoever at any time during the course of this event.
